Hello everyone,
I would love to implement Zimbra where i work but we have a legacy infrastructure which might make it a little difficult to do so.
Basically, i would like to keep our OpenLDAP server as the main user database but would like to use Zimbra's sharing capabilities (ie: address book, documents, etc).
We currently have an OpenLDAP server which serves as the DB backend for a Samba Server.
All our servers authenticate against the OpenLDAP server but our windows workstations auth on the Samba Domain.
We based our setup on the "IDEALX's samba + openldap how to".
Anybody knows how to integrate both zimbra and a existing OpenLDAP service?
Thanks in advance,
LuÃÂs Silva
Is it possible to make Zimbra connect to remote OpenLDAP / samba?

2014 and the question is unanswered... what about the integration capability?
I have the same trouble now, lucky it is for test.

Have a quick look at LDAP Authentication - Zimbra :: Wiki
Its openLDAP under the hood, so selectively replicating data across the two servers should be doable.

yeah hi, thanks. I was just working on it.
I mean, is a ldap matter, not zimbra.
Zimbra only use the authentication, but the syncro of ldap tree is apart.
