Zimbra Desktop 7.2.5 issues post-upgrade from 8.5.0 to 8.6.0

Is anyone else having connectivity issues with Zimbra Desktop 7.2.5 after the upgrade to 8.6?  We're using self-signed SSL certificates.  Began seeing the "red square" on this server's account in my Desktop 7.2.5 this morning.  So I went in to Desktop setup, selected the account that had begun failing, clicked "Edit" and clicked "Validate and Save"... (this was with the "UseSSL" radio button selected.  Normally we'd see a "self-signed certificate not trusted" warning that could be bypassed.  Now I see:

ZDesktop is using a very old java version.

Have a look at : C:Program Files (x86)imbraimbra Desktopwin32jre

java -version : java version "1.6.0_41"

Close zdesktop completey. Rename jre to jre.old and copy the jre7 folder from your current java install directory

C:Program Files (x86)Javajre7 to C:Program Files (x86)imbraimbra Desktopwin32jre



Start ZDesktop it should work.

Hoping to see a zdesktop update soon.

the same problem occurs on the version of zimbra desktop for mac.

can only work by disabling ssl.

You release a new version of zimbra desktop? or a patch for zimbra 8.6.0?

Looks like you, like me, have a old Java version, please run in a Terminal java -version, if you have 1.6 or 1.7, please upgrade to the last Java version, here the dmg for the JDK - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html


Please be sure that you have a Backup or Time Machine for your Mac, and also that any other application will broke with this update.

I just want to make it clear for everyone. The problem is not the version of java installed in your OS.

It is the version of java USED by Zimbra Desktop. Zdesktop is shipped with an old version (1.6.0_41-*).



I took the time to extract the content of the Windows MSI installer and the Linux tar.gz package and both have an old version.

I'm pretty sure the MAC dmg package use the same version of java as well.



Replacing the jre folder is a temporary fix until the Zimbra team update the packages available on the download page.

This did not solve the problem for me. On windows, I now get a prompt that it needs me to reenter my password. I do this and then his sync and the password prompt comes right back. I have replaced the jre file with new 1.8 update 25. but still no success! Please help!
