change send delivery reports for a distribution list to postmaster or owner ?

Postby seba45 » Sat Nov 28, 2015 3:29 pm

Hello, Is it possible to change a distribution list for the return-path so that the person (user) who mailings in an email distribution list do not get errors. postfix is generally sub defines thus:

when an alias exists for owner-name, delivery diagnostics are directed to that address, instead of to the originator of the mes- sage. This is typically used to direct delivery errors to the main- tainer of a mailing list, who is in a better position to deal with mailing list delivery problems than the originator of the undelivered mail.

I have created an alias owner-mydl to postmaster or created an email list owner-mydl but it does not for mydl distribution list.
someone would have an idea, I can not find anything about it in the documentation dl zimbra .
thank you in advance

The Zeta Alliance crowdfunder `Zimbra Mailinglists` has found a way to set the correct Return-Path on a DL.

Basically what I do is filter the original message with Milter and discard it. Before discarding I take some headers and the body from the mail and place them in a new mail and toss that to the DL with sendmail.

The result is a clean message from the correct domain, and it should be able to pass SPF/DKIM and all that.

Its great, because the final message that goes to the recipients is still processed by Zimbra as a normal DL message.
