Weird mailbox problem (index?)

Post by mhlevy »

Hi All,

I've got a user who occasionally receives email from a number of co-workers who are able to use the "send as" feature, and when those messages are received, even though they weren't sent using the "send as" feature, messages will sometimes show up as if they were sent using "Send As" when they're displayed in her mailbox. The first time this happened, it seemed like an indexing issue, and reindexing the mailbox always seem to fix the problem. But within a week or so, it will begin happening again. And what's worse, it's not consistent. Not every message sent by the same user will show up as the "send as" user: For example, see the attached file, "mboxTest.jpg. The message from Pam Smith appears to have been sent by the "Accounting Dept," but Pam sent it as herself, not using the "Send As." It just seems sort of random...

The original message itself (mboxTest.txt) shows the correct sender, and when I view her mailbox from the Admin console (at the same time it was being displayed in her mailbox as having been sent by the Accounting Dept,) the message also shows the correct sender (adminMboxTest.jpg.) I'm waiting to hear back (when it happens again) to find out it it occurs using different web browsers on her desktop. Here's the original message:

Running a "verify index" on the mailbox didn't reveal any problems, although there can be many errors in the mailbox.log file when actually running a re-indexing, similar to these:

Code: Select all
