Notification for disabled mailbox

Post by skaigonakeryon »

Hello,

does anyone know of a way to send a notification E-Mail back to the sender when they are sending an E-Mail to a disabled mailbox in case of death or when someone leaves their workplace?

Any help would be grately appreciated!

Instead of closing the mailbox, lock it.

Then set an out of office message. After a period of time, close the mailbox.

No options if the status is closed. Any other status would work though.

We had the idea as well but since we have a license for every employee keeping them open will get pretty expensive, which is why we were looking for a different way to do this. But thank you nontheless

The other option that comes to mind would be have one dedicated account, maybe call it notifications.

And, that account would be locked. This account would then hold many aliases for all the ex-email account with a generic OOO message.
