Webmail attachment error: Error uploading file. xxxMaxSize does not matter.

Post by Antonto »

Hello!
When I've tried attach file greater then 1MB via Web interface i've got error: "Error uploading file."
Same operation via IMAP client goes without any errors.

Nothing special in the /opt/zimbra/log/*

MAX sizes are:

Code: Select all

$ zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraFileUploadMaxSize
zimbraFileUploadMaxSize: 40960000

$ zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize
# empty

$ zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraMailContentMaxSize
zimbraMailContentMaxSize: 102400000

$ zmprov gs `zmhostname` zimbraImapMaxRequestSize
zimbraImapMaxRequestSize: 40960000

$ zmprov gcf zimbraFileUploadMaxSize
zimbraFileUploadMaxSize: 40960000

$ zmprov gcf zimbraImapMaxRequestSize
zimbraImapMaxRequestSize: 40960000

$ zmprov gcf zimbraMailContentMaxSize
zimbraMailContentMaxSize: 102400000

$ zmprov gcf zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize
zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize: 40960000

Looks like I'we got the SOAP Debug Log (added log4j.logger.zimbra.soap=DEBUG to /opt/zimbra/conf/log4j.properties) :

This thread is 2 years old and not all errors are equal. Please create a new post and provide as much detail as possible.

Asking "then how to solve this issue" will not get you an answer. Post what's happening along with any errors.

I've started this topic tow years ago and found no solution. And I've just start using standalone mail client instead web interface. But I've checked for this issue right now on Zimbra 8.8.10_GA3781 - looks like the problem goes away.
During these 2 years I updated the system from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 and Zimbra to 8.8.10.

Dear All, I have the same problem and i have solved the same.

Error:-

Critical: uploading file error.

Solution:-

I have noticed in zimbra user account crontab below entries,

*/60 * * * * /opt/zimbra/lib/zmcheckexpiredcerts

I didnt do any changes i just leave it and I've went to that path /opt/zimbra/lib/ and removed the file zmcheckexpiredcerts
recreated the same file with chattr +i

#touch zmcheckexpiredcerts
#chattr +1 zmcheckexpiredcerts

that's it now i can able to upload file without any issue. :P :P :P

You may think you've solved it but you have a larger problem than just having a problem uploading files. If you read any of the recent threads in these forums concerning this problem (and more so because you found this: zmcheckexpiredcerts) you would have seen that your Zimbra server has been hacked and you'll need to clean it to remove all of the hacked files that's probably been uploaded to your server.
