IMAP Impersonation.

Post by ianw1974 »

Using the admin web interface, it's possible to click a user, and then view mail. Obviously this is using the admin users credentials to do this which is fine.

However, I'm wanting to be able to do a similar process using IMAP. Is it possible to connect to a user's mailbox, using the admin login/password? Effectively IMAP impersonation for an account which already has access to all accounts on the server?

If so, how would the login information be passed, to allow access to that particular mailbox? I cannot rely on users password, in case they change it. Hence, the reason for wanting to use the admin account.
