How to delete localhost in server after update

Post by SebekW »

hi

After update 8.0.6(ok) >> 8.6.0(ok) >> 8.7.11(sux) showed "localhost" in servers, how to permanently remove it or switch to the correct domain name.

Image

I have it in Polish in localhost on the right side writes "the data are outdated"

Code: Select all

[zimbra@poczta ~]$ zmcontrol status
Host xxx.xxx.com.pl
	amavis Running
	antispam Running
	antivirus Running
	ldap Running
	logger Running
	mailbox Running
	memcached Running
	mta Running
	opendkim Running
	proxy Running
	service webapp Running
	snmp Running
	spell Running
	stats Running
	zimbra webapp Running
	zimbraAdmin webapp Running
	zimlet webapp Running
	zmconfigd Running
the rest seems to be ok
by that I can not receive e-mails

Make that:

Code: Select all

[zimbra@poczta ~]$ zmloggerhostmap -d localhost localhost
Deleted mapping for localhost to localhost

Code: Select all

[zimbra@poczta ~]$ zmloggerhostmap
Zimbra Logger Service Hostname Map

--------------------- ---------------------
DNS Hostname Zimbra Hostname
--------------------- ---------------------
poczta poczta.xxx.com.pl
poczta.xxx.com.pl poczta.xxx.com.pl
looks good
Update 8.0.6 to 8.6.0 was asked about IP and mater dns, update 8.6.0 to 8.7.11 did not ask.
after restart everything returns :/

Hi
Maybe someone would respond so kindly, so it should not happen, something went wrong and there is no help, it is not good.
Ask a simple question to the specialists: how to remove this localhost. I do not believe that nobody can do it.
Or you are so smart to answer the newbie it is a loss of honor :/ ...

You should already know that these forums are Community support forums and people post here when they have the time, if you want professional support then take out a subscription with Zimbra.

You won't win many friends by making sarcastic comments about the people you want to help you. Asking for help also assumes you've done some research before posting (always a good idea), have you and what did you find (hint: this has been asked and answered many times). Just for a bit of light reading this afternoon, take a look at the results of a quick search and you can start your resolution with that: https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?qu ... ge=english - see if any of those help you, if they didn't tells us which ones you tried and what the results were.
Regards

Bill
