Smart Host/Relay Host configuration - setting a password?

How do I provide a username and password for a Smart Host/Relay Host configuration?
There is no field in the Admin Console, Configure > Global Settings > MTA
Only fields for "Relay MTA for external delivery" hostname and port.

Hi @phoenix,

I'm wondering if the WIKI that you wrote, which is located here -> https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Outgoing_SMTP_Authentication#Enabling_SMTP_authentication is still valid for Zimbra 8.8.

The instructions seem to be from an 8.0 or 8.5 perspective. I wonder if there have been any updates since 8.8?

I didn't write that wiki article but, AFAIK, that should be valid for 8.8.x as there are some notes that mention "8.5 and later". To be honest I don't relay through another server so I can't really confirm the details of that article.

I think it's more convinient for you to use relay service with IP. It only costs you about 1.5USD/month/IP.
