Zimbra migration questions

Post by stoffl »

Hi!

First of all a few facts:
Curtrently I'm running a Zimbra 8.0.4 on a Ubuntu 12.04 Server
I've ordered another server, on which I plan to use to Zimbra 8.8.11 - on Ubuntu 18.04 Server.

What is the best way to migrate the server?

I've read this: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/How_to_mov ... her_server

My question: is that the best way to transfer the current setup and then upgrade?

And can this work: https://syslint.com/blog/tutorial/zimbr ... ct-method/

Thanks.

If you'd have search the forums then you would have found that the ZeXtras Migration Tool is the easiest and best method of moving your ZCS installation to a new server. Obviously take all relevant backups before you start anything on your source server .

Christopher,

Just an FYI.

Ubuntu 18.04 is not currently supported, you'll need to be installing 16.04,
