Calendar Error After update 8.8.15 Patch1

Postby danielmjmarques » Mon Sep 09, 2019 4:34 pm

After upgrade Zimbra 8.8.12 to 8.8.15 Patch1 i receive this error:

"We Area unable to identify the time zone in your area, please choose the time zone from list"

zmcontrol -v
Release 8.8.15_GA_3829.RHEL7_64_20190718141144 RHEL7_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.8.15_P1.

I already checked the file /opt/zimbra/conf/timezones.ics and already tried to update tzdb.dat using tzupdater.jar. But I still have the mistake. My Time Zone is America / Sao_Paulo.

zmprov gd kaiani.com.br | grep TimeZone
zimbraPrefTimeZoneId: America/Sao_Paulo

Thanks in advance for your help

Update Ticket: I did some more testing and found that the problem is related to the client machine's time zone and server, and only occurs in Chrome. I've tested other windows machines with chrome that never accessed the server and the problem also occurs, so I discarded being browser cache

I didn't find a definitive solution, but I found a temporary solution. Installing the Chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... pokmncimpj I was able to work around the issue.

Hi @danielmjmarques, I am having the same situation here, but in Zimbra 8.8.12 version. Maybe it isn't something related with 8.8.15. Thanks for your workaround. I'll definitly test it.

I inserted the following lines at the end of the zone, before "END:VTIMEZONE"
BEGIN:DAYLIGHT
END:DAYLIGHT

All zone lines
TZID:America/Sao_Paulo
LAST-MODIFIED:20190731T040554Z
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-PRIMARY:TRUE
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-MATCH-SCORE:100
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-ALIAS:(GMT-03.00) Brasilia
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-ALIAS:(UTC-03.00) Brasilia
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-ALIAS:Brazil/East
X-ZIMBRA-TZ-ALIAS:E. South America Standard Time
BEGIN:STANDARD
TZNAME:-03
DTSTART:16010101T000000
TZOFFSETTO:-0300
TZOFFSETFROM:-0300
END:STANDARD
BEGIN:DAYLIGHT
END:DAYLIGHT
END:VTIMEZONE

I'm facing the same problem and I'm running Release 8.8.15_GA_3829.RHEL7_64_20190718141144 RHEL7_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.8.15_P2.
It only happens on Chrome and it impacts both Calendar and email if you try to print any message. It doesn't affect Firefox as far I tested.
Looks like Chrome get the date as UTC and can't convert it to the timezone you have choose before, so it still shows as UTC.
