Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
Tom,
Zimbra is no longer building the OSE version, only providing source code for the community to build for themselves; Zextras are being kind enough to do that for us. You can find more information on their website

Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
In addition to what Doug has posted above, you could always move your ZCS server to CentOS 7 as that's a supported product until June 2024 - make your final decision sometime before that goes out of support and also see what alternatives you have.
Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
Ok, If I move my zimbra 8 to centos 7, are new patches available still for zimbra 8? I have been receiving my zimbra patches via yum update, but since that no longer works anymore that means neither did the patches for zimbra.
What are you guys running? Still zimbra? If so, which version which OS? Or are you moving away to another open source platform?
Just trying to figure out how best to spend my time on this. Thank you.

Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
As of Saturday, I'm running the latest Zextra's provided installation under Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
I'm keeping an eye out for an alternative.

Yes until Zimbra 8.x on CentOS 7.x is supported.tom11011 wrote:Ok, If I move my zimbra 8 to centos 7, are new patches available still for zimbra 8?
What doesn't work anymore?tom11011 wrote:I have been receiving my zimbra patches via yum update, but since that no longer works anymore that means neither did the patches for zimbra.
I'm running Zimbra on a mix of CentOS 7 and Ubuntu 18 LTS VM.

Or the 'new' UI if you're using that version of ZCS 9.manens wrote:Sadly, the new UI is NOT opensource, so, only old UI in those buildsjorgedlcruz wrote: I hope somebody can provide a few more insights about what Synacor means with that they are not Zimbra 9 repos, if we are building it and getting a ZCS 9 package with the new ui included, weird.

Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
I built one yesterday for Ubuntu 18.04, but standard from zm-build, not zextras.

Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
If you want a generic build using the Zimbra build process, I have here currently for Ubuntu 18.04. When my CentOS7/CentOS8 finish building they will appear soon: https://github.com/ianw1974/zimbra-builds

Re: Zimbra 9 - FOSS
Yes they have; but you have to download the installer, and do a complete installation, not just a patch.Have Zextras released new build (updated patch), haven't they?
