Hi Forum
Zimbra Server8.8.11_GA_3799-FOSS
Outlook 2016
I having a user that the last couple of years have been running as POP3 - ends in a PST file on 12,5GB which I like to import into the Zimbra Server - so he's moving from Pop3 to Exchange connection towards the server.
Which is the right way to o this?
I have tried the following tools - Zimbra Migration tool --> Says no office is installed - eventhough there's office2016 on the PC
I Have covertet the PST to tar.gz with Bitrecover PST Converter -- ends with a tar.gx - but when importing it through the Webinterface ( it'll start but after several hours theres not any subfolders in the importet folder.
I have tried importing the tar.gz though Zimbra Desktop client - but same result as the online - running for hours . no subfolder exist ?
Am I doing some thing wrong - since looking in the tar.gz all folder subfolder etc exist - so am I doing something wrong - or am I not patiened enough while waiting for the import of PST file
As you see on this screenshot from Zimbra Desktop - how I importing the tar.gz - and then it'll just keep the showing like that - ony way to see something is working is the little ring at the end of the user name
THanks in advance
P

Re: Importing a PST File
Can you provide a link to this software
I can only find this https://www.zimbra.com/downloads/zimbra ... ion-tools/ --> which not following the provided guide.
I can only point atthe PST and press next - telling me no Outlook is installed - while there is Office2016 installed on the PC
But none of the screens shows it . like the guide is showing
When using this Zimbra PST Migration Wizard (64bit)(MD5) (SHA256)
I'm getting this error: I'm stranding here - since I can avoid the Outlook error - when pressing destination - THen I can fill it all out . and start the Migration - says queded and no imported and no errors.
Looking in the logfile I'm finding this at the end of the logfile for migration:
and thats it - no imported or anything - so I'm not able to see how I can import the PST file tp Zimbra ( I have it allso converted to tar.gz and trying the online/Desktop import - but no files are imported.

Re: Importing a PST File
Since you are on the FOSS version of Zimbra, there is no native support for Exchange ActiveSync, you will have to either Setup Z-Push or set them to use IMAP.
The simplest way to do this would be to set up another account in Outlook using IMAP connecting to your Zimbra server. Then drag and drop folders from the local mail folders to the Zimbra server.

Re: Importing a PST File
The PST import wizard (legacy) doesn't use EAS and has always been compatible with the OSE version of ZCS.lytledd wrote:Since you are on the FOSS version of Zimbra, there is no native support for Exchange ActiveSync, you will have to either Setup Z-Push or set them to use IMAP.

I can't really see your point with EAS here.
Also using IMAP would only import mails (not contacts, calendars or tasks) and might not work very well (with big folders or folders within folders).
You'll have to do it in several steps and double check the imported data.
The "new" import tool (Exhange and Outlook) however seems to have strange behaviour with last Outlook version.
We have experienced the same problem, the tool saying Outlook was not installed (while it obviously was).
