Allowed IP on a per user basis

Post by zim_mike »

All day long, we watch hackers trying to dictionary hack mail accounts and in our case, we know where the users are coming from.

Most, not all, of the users have a fixed IP they are checking email from. Is there a way to configure their accounts to be allowed access from one or more IPs?

Mainly looking for search terms as I have no idea what this could be called in Zimbra.

Mike,

This has been a wish list item for over 10 years; there is no built-in way to do this.

I guess it has to be done at the firewall level then.

I appreciate your reply, it was quite a long time since I posted this and finally know why I could not find anything about it.

Thank you.
