I have something like 10 zimbra community installation in esxi installations. Since we started using zimbra in phisical server we hadn't many problems, so during the year we began to install vms instead. Unfortunatly for the last one year (more or less), every few days, zimbra suddenly stops some of its services and we cannot realize why. Sometimes it does it more than once per day.
What we tried to to without success is upgrade to the latest versions, close external ports from internet (except the port 993), but situations is still te same.
Now we workaround with a script that runs every 5 minutes and in case not all services are running it automatically restarts zimbra.
It happens on ubuntu as well as on centos.
Any suggestions?
Thank
Angelo

Not trying to be mean, but this will sound mean. Are you new to VMWare? If you new to ESX look there as well. Make sure you sized your VMs right. Too many CPUs assigned to the VM can cause an increase wait times. RAID 5 can destroy performance (not to mention test for good your backup plan really is if your on spinning rust)
Then post some log entries
