multiple domains and DNS reverse lookup

Post by tommyhp2 »

Hi,

I've setup multiple domains on my Zimbra server and I was able to send e-mail to most domains successfully. However, for a few that perform reverse DNS lookup, the recipient's server refused because of DNS reverse lookup. The Zimbra has the service host name as:

Code: Select all

mail.domain.com
which the recipient's server sees. How can I set/configure so that they'll see:

Code: Select all

mail.hosted-domain1.com
when users of "hosted-domain1.com" sends the email, as configured in the DNS records and the recipient's server can do reverse lookup successfully?

Thanks,
Tommy

You only have one reverse dns recod and that's for the 'primary' domain which would also be the FQDN of the zimbra mail server. Your reverse dns is also likely to require your ISP to set it for you.

You should also search for, and read, some of the many topics/blogs/articles on the internet which cover this topic.
