Whitelisted keeps going to junk

Post by zim_mike »

I have a Linux server on the lan that sends notices every hour but a couple of weeks ago, those started going to the junk folder.
The strange thing is that the sending IP has always been allowed in zimbraMtaMyNetworks no less. The server is 8.8.15_GA.

Never had a problem with those until now. I also see that several other external sites like forums land in junk too and yet I've been on those forums for a long time and never had a problem.

I've sent the emails back out with 'whitelist' in the subject and body but no change.

The internal mails that go to junk show this for spam headers.

X-Spam-Flag: YES
X-Spam-Score: 0.701
X-Spam-Level:
X-Spam-Status: Yes, score=0.701 required=0.6 tests=[ALL_TRUSTED=-1,
BAYES_50=0.8, DKIM_ADSP_NXDOMAIN=0.9, NO_DNS_FOR_FROM=0.001]
autolearn=no autolearn_force=no

I thought I had autolearn set to yes for the longest time but I see it's set to no, Is that why?

What happens if you mark the as 'not spam' when they're in the Junk folder, does the problem continue?

I don't think that 0.6 point is sufficient for spam score as it is very low score. Default setting from Zimbra is 6.6 (33%).

According to the score, you have whitelisted score ALL_TRUSTED=-1
but have spam score for BAYES_50=0.8 and DKIM_ADSP_NXDOMAIN=0.9, accumulated to 1.7, and with whitelisted score -1, you still got 0.7 and it was above the minimum score.

I would recommend to think again for very low score on spam tag or you will need to check on BAYES_50 or DKIM_ADSP_NXDOMAIN score.

Hi,

Setting to not spam doesn't make any difference, the next one goes right to junk.

I'm not sure what to change without messing things up.
I mean, it took me a long time to get it to a point where the spam is not overwhelming so I don't want to change something only to end up with a lot of spam again :).

What would be a safe change to make?

Can someone please help me with this. I don't want to mess my server up.
It took a long time to get it to a point where the spam is not overwhelming.
Even if the settings don't look perfect, it works better than without them :).

I understand what has been mentioned here but am apprehensive about making drastic changes because it was working well up until a few weeks ago.
So am not sure where I should start.

And just like that, no changes what so ever on the server and now those emails are no longer going to spam.
Too weird.
