We are provisioning a new Zimbra mail server to test out and having significant issues with DNS resolving properly. Our environment is Ubuntu 20.04 and the latest version of Zimbra. When I stop Zimbra everything from Ubuntu resolves properly. Example ping .google.com or nslookup google.com
If Zimbra is running everything tries to resolve to the localhost 127.0.0.0:53 and dies there and cannot resolve.
We are using our internal DNS servers and they will forward anything they can't resolve to external servers that can.
What have I missed in the configuration?
Thanks in Advance

Re: DNS and DMZ
Do you have the dnscache server installed on your zimbra server?

Re: DNS and DMZ
I never use dnscache as I run my own dns servers and have no problem. If you have your own resolver on the network (are you behind NAT?) using that for resolution with correct hosts file should do you fine. If that's not what you've got then give a description of your network set-up and what DNS you're using.
Re: DNS and DMZ
BTW, I forgot to as this earlier, you mention a DMZ in the title - is that where your Zimbra server sits?

I am new to the forums. I think my posts are delayed at this time. If I stop the dnscache service will it affect Zimbra?
