Ability to reset configuration?

Post by avd »

Hello.

I just spent a number of hours trying to figure out why my certificate would not match. It turned out the certificate was fine, but because it was a ECDSA type certificate it is not supported, at least not on Zimbra (open source) "Release 8.8.15.GA.4179.UBUNTU20.64 UBUNTU20_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.8.15_P35."

In the process of trying to figure it out (and not finding much documentation on this problem at all until I found one article about it after) I definitely corrupted the files that have to do with the LDAP settings/database. I cannot start LDAP, and I get multiple errors.

Everything was working great until I wanted to get that SSL in place. Emails were coming in, going out, all was well with the world. :)

So, my questions:

a) Are there any ways to self-heal the system? (fix permissions doesn't do it)
b) Is there a way, without wiping out the whole server, that I can reset everything back to default?

Thanks.
