I was running a trail of the NE 8 appliance. I decided to go Open Source so installed it over the top. Everything went perfectly except now, the vmware-ha service isn't starting. Is this something that is not available in the FOSS edition and if not, how do I get rid of it?

Not running 8 yet, but if it's similar to 7 you can see services enabled by doing like
zimbra@castor:~> zmprov gs castor.domain.com | grep zimbraServiceEnabled
zimbraServiceEnabled: mailbox
zimbraServiceEnabled: convertd
zimbraServiceEnabled: stats
zimbraServiceEnabled: snmp
zimbraServiceEnabled: spell
to disable one, do
zmprov modifyServer castor.domain.com -zimbraServiceEnabled snmp
so maybe see if vmware-ha is in there
