BTW, you really should post messages in the correct forum. I'll move this as it's not a question about Zimbra Desktop (which is where you've posted).

It's Allocated disk. It does take up 85 Gig when backed up or rsync'ed to another server.

That's why you've been told that using rsync is not the correct method of backing-up that file as you may end up with a corrupted database and you've also been given the correct method of backing-up that file - stop spreading misinformation.samgann wrote:It's Allocated disk. I freshly installed zcs-8.0.2_GA_5569.UBUNTU12_64.20121210115059 open source version on Ubuntu 12.04 platform and found 80GB of file size as follows.
-rw------- 1 zimbra zimbra 80G Jan 2 11:41 data.mdb
Any solution for this ?. my main issue is unable to keep backup for many days.

It isn't actually an 85GB file, it's sparse allocated and has been discussed in the forums.tharangamu wrote:I freshly installed zcs-8.0.2_GA_5569.UBUNTU12_64.20121210115059 open source version on Ubuntu 12.04 platform and found 80GB of file size as follows.
