Looks like one of my users can crash my Zimbra 3.1 running on Suse10 by trying to send a 25mb attachment trhough the Webmail.
Max attachment size is set to 40mb (for testing purpose)
Does the same happen for you?

Maybe is your low on memory... How much RAM do you have? Can you reproduce this every time?

Yes I can also make the server crash by sending a large mail (30mb). The server is running low on free mem - the server has 512mb (using 450mb avg.). I can see Tomcat stops running when I try to send the mail.
Shoulden't the server just be able to use swap mem when the large mail is passing through the server or am I asking for to much?

you can increase the size of the tomcat heap but 512mb doesn't give you much room. the default is 30% of total memory but you could try setting it to 50 or 60:
zmlocalconfig -e tomcat_java_heap_memory_percent=50
zmlocalconfig -e tomcat_java_heap_memory_percent=50

Just in my opinion email isn't meant for attachments that large if it has to be there large I would suggest authenticated HTTP or FTP. Thats just me though.
