Being a previous Exchange consultant, I'm obviously very biased as far as mail solutions go. However, I do have some questions. My only experience with Zimbra is as a Comcast mail user.
Does it support Outlook? Are the protocols only IMAP and POP3 (Comcast only allows pop3)? Are there any tools for legal searches? What about mobile device control? Are there separate server roles so that mailbox data isn't exposed to the internet? What platform(s) does it run on?

Re: Zimbra Questions
If you are looking at the pay for version (Network Edition) then yes it doesDoes it support Outlook?
Are the protocols only IMAP and POP3 (Comcast only allows pop3)?
For the Open Source Edition (OSE), out of the box, only supports IMAP(s)/SMTP(s)/POP3(s)
There are options for that though (Z-Push) which provides my install the ActiveSync protocol.
At the time that I was a NE Administrator, there was none with our license, but we had MailArchiva installed that covered that needAre there any tools for legal searches?
ActiveSync comes with Zimbra NE and for OSE, there is Z-PushWhat about mobile device control?
YesAre there separate server roles so that mailbox data isn't exposed to the internet?
Various version of Linux, you'll see that on the download pageWhat platform(s) does it run on?
