mail not going out
I'm getting complaints from users that their messages are not going out. They sit in the in-box, but don't go out.
Latest outlook connector...What could this be? Only some users, not all.
Thank you

It may be a problem with outgoing file attachments. Even as small as 5MB, they just sit in the outlook outbox. What should I do?

whats the max attachement size on the server? Are any NDR's generated because of the send? Are they trying to send a 5mb message over a slow link? Are there any messages in any of the SyncIssues folders?

The server limit is 25MB. I noticed this user as a few JPG attachments, totalling 7MB. I've been able to get 300Kb upstream from this user.
Nothing is being generated....it just sits in outlook. on send/receive it says 'processing' but never appears to actually do anything. eventually it will error out 'Unknown error'
This is causing new messages sent behind them to pile up.
thank you!

have you tried to wait it out? sounds like its trying to upload the file. about how long does it sit in the outbox?

some are a day old....I can send attachments from another network. it's got to be a client firewall thing. What ports does the outlook connector use? anything special?
mail not going out
nothing special, it uses whatever port you configured it with (probably 80 or 443).
You can enable logging and see what its trying to do. Look in the system mapi directory (probably c:program filescommon filessystemmsmapi1033) for a ZcoLogCtl.exe app.
* Shutdown outlook
* Run ZcoLogCtl.exe
* Enable logging and notice where the log files go
* restart outlooking
When you send a message, we call the SendMsgRequest soap api. Look in the log file for that call and what the server returns.
Couple warnings
* make sure the max log file size is big enough
* only use ZcoLogCtl to enable/disable logging - none of the other functions work yet

would it be difficult to configure the local outlook clients to all send to a local smtp server, which could forward it to zimbra? this would help with the delay to send large files.
I'm getting those logs now...thank you

I'm thinking it's a client-side firewall issue. Do you have any other ideas? I have someone looking at the firewall right now.
