Wrong folder names with german Outlook

Post by 5551SpeedPartner »

Hi,
for a test-Installation (which should be used on a exhibition next week) I installed the Outlook Connector 3.1.2 on Win XP Prof. with Outlook 2003 in german.

After a while I realized that the Connector seems to have massive problems with Folder-Names because Outlook uses german names.
Inbox => Posteingang

Calendar => Kalender

Contacts => Kontakte

...
Is there a quick solution for this problem?

For the german market this seems to be a show-stopper.
Regards

Michael

It's not something we've tested internally to date. Your best option is to file a support request or submit this to bugzilla.

Are there any new developments on this?
I am having the same problems (e.g. no contacts visible).
This issue can decide if we can go for zimbra or not.

Which version & release of Zimbra are you using? Have you had a look in bugzilla? Could you give a better description of your problem?

I am using the 3.2 M2 release and the 3.2.0_M2_224_3.2.174 Outlook connector.
The thread owner already reported a bug, but nobody answered it yet:

The">http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=8610
The problem is, that some email folders (like Inbox, Sent, Trash but Postausgang(correct)), the contacts list, the calendar and meeting invitations still have their english names.
Besides that, I don't see my local contacts any more, only the ones in Zimbra. Is that intended?

OK, the best thing you can do for the bug is to vote on it in Bugzilla - that tends to get some attention. ;)
I don't know too much about the Outlook connector I'm afraid so I can't answer that one but my initial guess is that it's intended..

Nice tip!
Now only a few items are left in english: "sync issues" exists beside "Synchronisierungsprobleme" and "emailed contacts" is still in english.
Furthermore, I realized I have to import my contacts to zimbra with the import tool provided. Or is it possible to display my local contacts in that profile?
However, a proper localization would still be nice to have ;-)
