too large zdb file

Post by TiesB »

Hi I am using the zimbra outlook connector to read my zimbra emails under outlook. The local storage file zimbra.zdb is however getting large, and has now reached the intrinsic outloook limit of 50 GB. Is there a way that I can split off part of the messages into a separate storage file so that outlook functions again? The only way I found documented is to delete e-mails, which is of course rather cumbersome ...

Thanks for any help! Ties

How about a quick internet search for the following terms:

Code: Select all

outlook zdb file too large
Several of those should have the answer you need, IIRC.

If you are just looking to move old files out you can use the Archive feature of Outlook. Can create as many Archives as you would like with the only limitations being 50GB per archive and how much disk space you may have.

Archiving emails in some organizations is not permitted so check with your internal resources before you do.

If you are using ZCO or ActiveSync to sync your mail you can also try one of the following:

1. Download only headers for the messages in ZCO
2. Limit the duration of emails you want to have local.

Hope that helps some
