Zimbra 8.8 CalDAV busy search not working with Apple Calendar?

I've been having intermittent issues with the availability checker in Apple Calendar with Zimbra configured as a CalDAV account. More often than not, people whom I know have a completely busy schedule show up as having no appointments at all, or at other times, their appointments will show, but all the available times outside of those appointments will show as greyed out, as if the periods were outside of business hours, preventing the "Next available time" button from working correctly.
Has anyone else experienced this?
