Mozilla Prism - Zimbra Desktop Alternative?

Post by riogd »

Using Prism in linux (0.8), I do not receive any errors about it being an unsupported browser, however Prism does not work to access the ZimbraAdmin. It fails with a blank screen when attempting that for me.

I suspect this has to do with Prism's rendering engine as mentioned by jeffreyheinen.

If you're making your own webapp for Zimbra, you can change the User Agent of that Prism identifies itself as with some Javascript. Download the Yahoo Mail webapp from the Prism Wiki, extract the contents and examine the webapp.js file.

14 year necro. That must be getting close to a record.

Need more input, Stephanie.

When you chose "Advanced" on the login screen, it displays a warning message that this browser is not supported... I'm using Prism since december and I hadn't any problem since then with the advanced Zimbra client...

I agree. So was the case with me too.

Prism has worked exceptionally for my desktop too. the overall proceeding was smooth. I totally agree with you.

I have been running prism sense it came out for the mac. I do like it, it feels faster. There are a few rendering oddities, but It is because it is based on a newer rendering engine, correct?
