Issue Importing local Folders.

Post by maquesquifo »

I'm using Zimbra Desktop 7.2.5 GA (build 12038).
I export all my local folders. The file is 2,11 GB (2 274 062 577 bytes) longer, the name is: All-2014-06-05-115026.tgz.
Then I delete all my Zimbra account to make a new one in another PC.
Now I'm unable to restore the local folders (Preferences/local folders/ import, export)
Simply the Zimbra Desktop do nothing, just show a message (IMPORT STARTED), but really notthing occurs, the Zimbra Desktop block (color in gray), the Import Button, but if you move to another place (mail, address, calendar, etc), an then come back to preferences, the Import button is ready to use.
I tested the TGZ file and no erros on it.
I extratc and all the folders are in.
Do any knows how restore (Import), my local folders?
There is another way to do this task? I mean, import my local folder?
Thanks to all for your support.
Regards

Hi maquesquifo,

Try opening Zimbra Desktop with Admin rights, also, let the program work during almost 35 minutes, don't move nothing inside. Sometimes looks like freeze but it's not.
Let me know if it works.
Kind regards

Nothing Jorge.
I let work almost 1 hour and 15 minutes (with Administrative rights), but nothing.
Do you know If there is another way to import the local folder?
Thanks for your help!!
------

Hola Jorge, inicie el Zimbra en modo Administrador (botón derecho sobre el icono "run as administrator") , y lo deje trabajar durante una hora quince aproximadamente.
No sucedió nada.
No conoces otra forma de importar las carpetas locales?
No se, copiándolas en un directorio?
Utilizando otro software?
Gracias por tu ayuda.

Hi masquesquifo,

I will reply in english but I appreciate a lot your comment also in spanish, gracias!
I'm not sure if it will works for you, but try:

Edit the file with a XML editor localconfig.xml edit the next variable rest_request_max_upload_size to the size for your .tgz maybe put 20GB (You will need to put it in bytes) and then reboot your computer and try it again.
Zimbra have a Bug open with this problem > https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=73589 Maybe you can show more options here.
Tell us :)

Hello Jorge.
I make the changes on the localconfig.xml file.
Change the value from 5 GB (5368709120) to 20 GB (21474836480), but do nothing, I mean the Zimbra Desktop do not import the local folder.
I read the files you told me (Bug 73589), and I read that in the test they wait almost or more than 3 hours...
I will retry tonight once again shuting off all the energy option on the laptop.
Then i will write you again, to notify what happend.
Please let me ask once again: There is another way to import/restore the local folders?
Copy/extract the TGZ in to some folder inside the Zimbra directory?
Using another software (import to Outlook or Eudora or another then import into Zimbra Desktop once again)
Thanks once again for your support Jorge.

Hi maquesquifo,

Without a Zimbra Server, I don't know more ways to do it. I can provide you a Zimbra account in my Lab Environment, in a Data Center, and maybe you can Import the .TGZ and then syncronize with your Zimbra Desktop, and then move to Local again.
Or also you can put a Zimbra Server in a lab environment, I create a zimbra-in-a-box, is a virtual appliance than you can download and run.
Maybe other guys of the crew have more ideas.
Kind regards

Issue Importing local Folders.

Hi Jorge.
I still try to import my local folders into Zimbra Desktop.
I Split the TGZ into several ways, it run but do not import anything (show a Window with meta data issues), then I realize maybe this is not the way to solve the Issue.
I try to "simulate" the Issue with new Exporting test, to try to understand the issue, then I read the followin bug at bugzilla: https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=72299
I guess my problem is related with this bug, well i hope!! :-)
There is a varable name on this bug: SQLITE_MAX_VARIABLE_NUMBER
I really really don't know where this varable is located, and what shoud I do, because the bug 72299 is like a "libro no terminado". No solution at end. Butt i guess if i increase the value of SQLITE_MAX_VARIABLE_NUMBER variable, maybe it Works.
Do you know where this variable is located?
Thanks again for your support.

Hi maquesinfo,

If you want I can give you a demo account in one of my lab server, you can upload the backup without problem. And then put into a Zimbra desktop this "fake" account, and then move to Local Folders. :)
Deal?
Kind regards
