We are running 7.2.5 on all of our machines. I thought I read somewhere where development had stopped and then it was restarted. If that is the case does anyone know what the status is for the next update?

Read somewhere middle 2015. I assume this includes moving to modern JRE.

Great, hope the development team will look into missing phone numbers (home label) with yahoo address book..

Now add fixing "human verification" to the desktop.

The new version of Zimbra Desktop (probably v 3) will be released 'soon'. Perhaps in March. Bugs are being worked through atm.



It will be based upon node-webkit rather than Prism, and will be matched with the look and style of Zimbra 8.6.



There will be a lot of improvements, but a minor (temporary) loss of a couple of features which aren't (yet) available in node-webkit - such as becoming a mail handler (this is being worked upon).

So will Java still be required?

Will it be JRE 1.8?

I hope it will have a return of a theme (the old one was 'Twilight') that has zebra stripping to make it easier to scan the email header list. If not, I will probably switch back to Thunderbird.
