import account 20gb tgz - HELP

Post by Max Avelino »

I need to import one of more than 20 GB account, but when you click "Import" appears to "start import" message but it does not complete. I left for more than 19 hours and did not finish.

Windows 10 - I5 2.7 GHz - 4GB RAM
Zimbra 64-bit desktop 7.2.7.12059

The methods mentioned should not solve the problem, because I need to import the account to the local desktop zimbra and then want to delete this information in zimbra server to free up space.

Use ZD 7.2.8 RC build and you have option of using new feature "Auto-archiving".

Auto-Archiving
This feature will help you to move all your emails to local folders automatically.
- No limits on data size
- It can archive any size of data.
- Emails will be deleted automatically when it gets archived under Local folder.
- You don't have to worry about folder structure as well, auto-archiving created same folder structure as your primary mailbox.

Note: In 7.2.8 some of the bugs related to Backup/Restore are fixed, so you could try to use backup/restore as well.

You can find 7.2.8 builds by registering at : http://info.zimbra.com/try-zimbra-desktop-7.2.8. (https://blog.zimbra.com/2016/05/zimbra- ... available/)

When you configure auto-archiving, first auto-archiving will be triggered after 30 mins(in case you have set frequency to "On Application Launch").

There is no option for filtering emails. So if you have set number of days to 30, then all emails till last month would get deleted and moved to local folder.

Let me know if you more questions. I would happy to answer all.

I need to free up space on the server automatically after the completion of a "auto-archiving". I created an e-mail "TEST" and imported 9GB for it, delete all messages and the space occupied on the server continued. The space was only released after deleting the account "TEST". The emails deleted armanzenados are cached on the server? How do I fix this problem?

After importing all your emails you can set auto-archiving with number of days=1 (to archive all emails to local folder) and once archiving is successful all your emails will get moved to local folder and space from server will be free.
