Issues with Rules Feature

I sent an email out to 50 recipients and set a rule within my account so that when they replied to the email it went directly to a designated folder within my account. The Rule was based on Subject line and included a wildcard, EX: *Please RSVP*. Four recipient replies did not go into the proper folder but rather stayed in the inbox. I closely compared the 4 that weren't directed properly and there was no difference with the 56 that did. We had one of the recipients try again and it worked fine the second time. Any ideas on what caused this? I've done several emails in the past similar to this one and had no such issues.
