I've just installed the trial of Zimbra talk. I can see the Zimbra Talk Zimlet however I keep getting an error popup on the web client that says:
<servername> says:
Zimbra user login failed. Please re-login.
Chrome debug says:
https://<servername>/VNCMiddleware/rest/appPrefs/user/vnctalk/settings::xmpp::available_priority Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 401 (Unauthorized)
<servername> is the fqdn of our ZCS server, not the Zimbra Talk server.
Can anyone help?

I've got a problem quite similar to yours : "Zimbra user login failed. Please re-login."
Except that the 401 (Unauthorized) is on https://<servername>/VNCMiddleware/rest/licenses/global
The weird thing is on prosody log (/var/log/prosody.log) I got :
Have you something similar in prosody log ?

Do you have a valid DNS configuration and SSL too?
Would you mind to run the next basic Troubleshooting?
Check DNS on the Talk Server
/usr/share/ztalk/libexec/check_talk_dns.sh
Check SSL from the Zimbra Collaboration Server
From the Zimbra Server:
openssl s_client -connect xmpp.zimbra.io:443
