Zdesktop crashes when selecting application for http link

Post by themetman »

My Zimbra Desktop crashes when selecting the application to open for an http link in an email. The dialog opens, I go to /usr/bin/ then when scrolling down to find Firefox, it crashes.
Here is the output from the console

Code: Select all

Jetty running pid=22454
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
and from the log there is nothing.
It does say it is possible to select the application for links eg http, .odt, .doc etc in Preferences, but I cannot see where I can do this in Preferences.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks

Are you facing this problem with Linux?
So when you open link in email with HTTP, it crashes?

Yes I use 64bit Linux (CentOS 7 in fact)
No, the problem is in fact several:
1. whenever I click on a link in an Email ZDesktop crashes instead of opening my browser and following the link. So I just have to copy the link, open the browser and pase into the address box. Annoying!
2. whenever I click on Download to download an attachment, As long as I allow it to download to the default (/home/user/downloads) that is fine, but if I try and change the folder to a different one for the download, ZDesktop crashes.
3. whenever I try and open say a file as an attachment in ZDesktop, if there is no application associated with it, I am offered a dialog box to choose one. As soon as I change the folder in an attempt to go to /usr/bin/ ZDesktop crashes, so I cannot choose an application (Say Libreoffice) to associate with a say .docx file.

Any ideas welcome.
