Zimbra Drive Strategy

Hi Zimbra team,

can you elaborate on your Zimbra Drive strategy? What is the difference between the new NG module and the legacy Open Drive? What are the plans for future development of Open Drive?

The github site (https://github.com/ZeXtras/zimbra-drive) seems to be outdated.
I think we could find community members to help with continuing the open source development (myself included), provided that this is something Zimbra is interested in.

Thanks

I'd love some NC14 and NC15 support. Looks like there are ways we can make it work like when drive didn't work with NC13, but I'd rather not do that again. I'll probably give it another 2 weeks then give it a try. Is Drive something that Zimbra and Zextras is going to support? So far looks like a no. These posts with the inquiries don't even get responses from Zimbra or Zextras. Why push marketing material on great ideas that never get support? NC14 has been out since 9/10/2018. NC15 released in December and NC16 is slated for April of this year. Will we even get NC14/15 support from Drive before NC16 is out?

Indeed. It is especially sad, because things like adding support for NC14 are probably not very difficult. The community has done it in the past. But without any interest and coordination from Zimbra or Zextras, these efforts are largely wasted.

Perhaps you can give the Zimbra WebDAV Client a try it is community maintained,
but does not require a special app on the Nextcloud side.

A feature comparison is here:
