If you have trouble running Zimbra Drive, take a look at Zimbra WebDAV Client it is community maintained,
but it does not require an app on the side of Nextcloud.

A feature comparison is here:

Funny you mention this, I just installed this zimlet last week. It's really what Drive should be. You can save an attachment from an email directly into Nextcloud (which has been the most requested feature from my users). My only concern when setting it up was saving the user's password plain text in LDAP. Instead, I created a new app token in the users' Nextlcoud and used that as their password.

Now, we're only using Drive for the authentication piece. It's nice having one account for Nextcloud and Zimbra. If your add on could do the authentication piece there would be no reason to have Zimbra Drive. For now I've removed Drive from the Zimbra web client and renamed this Zimlet to Nextcloud instead of Webdav. I also successfully updated to Nextcloud 15 over the weekend. I had to modify the Nextcloud Drive app to allow a max version of 15. I get the integrity check error when I sign in now, but it's not a big deal.

Yeah, I have been using the Nextcloud app-token as well. I will put a note on that in the readme.

The only reason the WebDAV Client does not do the authentication, is that it would break external storage. For those people wanting to
pass on credentials to Windows Shares. But perhaps I can add better authentication one day.

There is also a nextcloud-labels script, that would set the icon and title of the WebDAV Client to Nextcloud, making it look better.

Will add that to the readme as well.

Nice touch with the nextcloud-labels script. Added that to my system.

I'm looking into the same direction: I want my users to only have one login, need to stick to NextCloud community edition though, so I'm using Zimbra Drive for authentication only. The zimlet didn't work, so I disabled it.

How does the "create new app token" process work? Will I need to sign in as the user to make this work?

Yes, you'll need to log in as them in Nextcloud and create the app token. Then you need to sign into Zimbra as them (or View Mail in admin console), click the WebDav zimlet on the left, then put in their username and the app token you created.

Dear Fellow Zimbra Users,

I am looking at purchasing NextCloud but I have a few questions that existing NextCloud / Zimbra users if you wouldn't mind could you answer:
  • Searchability and indexing - minor learning curve on indexing but end result is much more efficient access to documents. Also shows who authored the document and anyone who modified it. A user or team can create a template document and label it as a template for others to see and use. If someone inadvertently saves over a template, the template can be recovered quickly. I see this first bullet as being the primary benefit for document-heavy departments.

Security - can control access, movement, modification, deletion of documents.

Version Control - Tracking and recovering previous versions

Accessing, editing, sharing documents via mobile device, tablet or phone (iOS & Android) - Easier in Zimbra or NextCloud interface?

Integration into email systems, Microsoft Office and other commonly used business systems.

Uniform filing structure - documents don’t get lost or misplaced.

Ability to tack on other ancillary services (e.g., document assembly software, workflow and collaboration platforms)

Is there a store / transfer limit?
Can NextCloud index all the files that are on our Zimbra Server and NTFS resource and then find the first version and list historically the versions and who made the edits and changes?

I have asked these same questions to NextCloud sales but they aren't as helpful so any other inputs ya'll can give please indulge me.... Thanks for any feedback to my questions that I asked above...
