interface improvements for the accessibility of people with visual disabilities

Postby yann » Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:03 pm

Hello, I am not a developer but I would like to know if it is possible to improve Zimbra mail and calendar so that the interface is as accessible as possible for people with visual disabilities.

Thanks in advance

Hi Yann,

Yes, Zimbra's product teams are currently working on making both the Classic UI and the Modern UI accessible to people with disabilities, in compliance with WCAG guidelines. You can expect that to be available around March-April this year in the latest version of the product.

Hello, thank you for this quick answer,
will we have the possibility to have an alternative to the colors on the agendas?
Moreover, will we have the possibility to have keyboard shortcuts?

Thank you for your help.

We will have smoother keyboard navigation. Most components on both UIs will be accessible using keyboard, and will support aria labels and screen readers. Keyboard shortcuts are already available, but we will add to standard keyboard shortcuts on multiple screens.

What do you mean by colours on agenda? Can you paste a screenshot of what you are referring to?

at the moment we can find our way on the different shared agendas thanks to the colors. unfortunately the blind people can't

so it would be nice to be able to move with the keyboard with the help of the reader
