Feedback for website redesign

I don't see any appropriate place to put this, so please feel free to move the thread if I'm in the wrong.
Could you bring the download link back to the top menu? It's hidden in the resource page now and counterintuitive to navigate to. I spent the better part of an hour trying to find the download page to look at the release notes for a patch we installed, and before I could just click on the easy to understand 'download' link from the top page. I suppose 'downloading' could be considered a resource, but you guys are offering an open source package, right? Why do you need to hide the download so clandestinely for it? Most other open source I use is all like "hey, here I am, download me now and hang out," on the top page instead of being hidden away under some weird page. There isn't even a link to the downloads from the products page that I could find, for chrissakes.

Will do. Do you mind replying back with the pages where you think this link should be and specifically which download you want us pointing at?

Hi Rob,

I would love the 'download' page link back up on the main menu, if possible.

http://www.zimbra.com/downloads/

It used to be up on the main menu of the site next to buy and try, and it was a lot easier to find there.

(you can reference the read-only forums that still use the old menu bar: http://forums.zimbra.com/forum.php)

I would often click over to the downloads page to see if any new versions or patches were out.

I also use the downloads page to get the release notes for specific versions, because sometimes

I've got a system with an older version. The re-designed downloads page is great, it's just finding

the darn thing... maybe it's the old age setting in that I forget which menu the downloads page is at.

[mention:6aae168c58e34ea1af35674e69ff72fb:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] for both of these links they redirect to http://www.zimbra.com/try/zimbra-collab ... pen-source. Complete the form and the download should start. Does it not? Or do you just not like the fact that we have this form in front of the download?

[mention:a2d0b3b924b241c3ac0b6bee8d5eb27c:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] it is on the quick links in the footer of every page. I don't think we had enough room in the mast head.

I'm going to see if we can't make "Downloads" more prominent in the community though.

Thanks for this feedback. We can definitely make some improvements to make Downloads more accessible. To Rob's point, the masthead is out of real estate, but I think we can make our Downloads accessible from the "Try" page. As for downloading the open source version from here: http://www.zimbra.com/try/zimbra-collab ... pen-source -- you do not have to fill out the form. Scroll to the bottom of the form for a bypass message.

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse here, but is it possible to get a link to the downloads in the sub-masthead for the Products masthead? It seems more smart to put a link that outright says 'download' on it instead of adding it to the try page or whatever. I'm a heck of a lot more likely to click on a download page link than a try link, because 'download' is straightforward, and 'try' is not. Try sounds like shareware, and I'll need to jump through hoops to get the product, but maybe I'm just a moron that likes a simple to understand 'download.'

Also, is it possible to _not_ lose the masthead when clicking on the community link? I assume this may be unavoidable since the community link transfers over to here, but it's like being tossed between two completely different sites. I liked having the fluidity of accessing the Zimbra documentation and all the other stuff while I was in the old forums with the _same_ masthead everywhere. It's just kind of weird that there is no site uniformity anymore with these new forums.

Arg, and that home button up in the upper left really pisses me off because it brings me to the community home, and not the Zimbra homepage home. There is no easy way to get back to the Zimbra homepage from the community.

(I suppose you'll tell me to use the footer links, but a big old home button that does not bring me to the home page just pisses me off :P)
