Welcome to the Zimbra Tech Center

Post by jorgedlcruz »

Hello Community,
Over the years, our wiki.zimbra.com has been the hub for all of Zimbra’s technical knowledge. The Zimbra Wiki is a reliable place to find information about updates, configuration, security articles, and so on.
Our Zimbra employees have contributed, and continued to contribute, to the Zimbra Wiki to expand our Zimbra knowledge. We use Media Wiki as our wiki development tool, which also allows our Community to contribute to the Zimbra Wiki by creating or editing articles.
Next year our Media Wiki platform will be 10 years old, with more than 1,200 articles, and nearly 16,000 users in a consolidated platform that our customers and Open Source Community love.
Our Zimbra Wiki appearance has changed over the years, and today we want to introduce our new Zimbra Tech Center.

The Zimbra Tech Center uses the latest release of Media Wiki, plus a Bootstrap template. Note the Zimbra Tech Center URL is the same as the Zimbra Wiki, but our template has changed and we have added new functionalities.
Home Page
On our new Zimbra Tech Center Home Page you can find:

The main sections of the home page are indicated by Blue buttons and Gold Buttons.

Blue buttons include certified articles, which are developed by our Zimbra employees.
Gold buttons include articles from our Open-Source Community.

Three principal buttons are available for:

Videos available on help.zimbra.com
Knowledge Base articles created by our Technical Support Engineers (TSEs)
A link to join the IRC channel #zimbra (you must be logged in the Zimbra Tech Center)

Three main columns include:

Recently updated articles
Most Popular articles
Sticky articles provided by Zimbra

The Security Center is available, with information about the our Security Response Policy, Vulnerability Rating, and much more.
Information about our latest releases, including Zimbra Collaboration 8.6,  Release Notes, Patch Release Notes, etc.
Featured Videos, Webinars, and Open-Source Community Videos that our Community has  made available on YouTube.
List of the top seven GitHub articles from our Open-Source Community about Zimbra Collaboration.

Wiki/KB Article
Zimbra Wiki articles are now KB (Knowledge Base) articles. Our template is improved to provide easier navigation and expanded information, including:

A breadcrumbs menu to know where you are.
A unique Wiki/KB number, which is linkable.
Each article is tagged by the article type, for example Certified, Community, Work in Progress or Archive.
A new rating system. We know that some articles are very helpful, and others not so much. If you like the article, or don’t like an article, rate it according to how helpful it was to you. Article ratings help Zimbra improve the articles according to how helpful they are to our users.
The Zimbra Collaboration version for which the article was tested.
Social Media links so that you can share the article with just one click. If the article was helfpul, you can share it with other people. Be social.
The Page Contents are now listed on the right side of the screen. This allows you to read the article without being disturbed by the contents list, although you can easily click a link to jump to a specific area in the article.

Certified Category
The Certified Articles page is improved, with one hot topic highlighted and links to other popular certified articles. Currently, the Zimbra Desktop 7.2.7 Beta and some new Zimbra Collaboration 8.5 and 8.6 features are highlighted.

Continued Improvement of the Zimbra Tech Center
We continue to development new sections and articles for the Zimbra Tech Center.
Keep in touch for more news and updates, and as always, we look forward to your feedback.
