No_Such_Server

I found that I had 'search example.com' in my resolv.conf. The tacked on example.com to localhost when I ran 'host localhost' making it try to resolve localhost.example.com. Once I removed the search line, everything worked great again.

I'm triing to reinstall Zimbra. First installation was inseccessful - I'в forgot to set corrent hostname, so all worked except accepting mail.

I'd reinstalled it totally but met this problem. Tried to use such approaches but no result.

Is it possible to totally remove Zimbra from the system and install it again as on clean machine?

Yes, you can remove Zimbra just run the install again with the uninstall option - './install.sh -u' (no quotes, obviously). That will remove everything including any mail you may have in the store.

I tried this, but unseccussful

It's like Zimbra had wrote itself to the system. So my afforts to reinstall it didn't give result. I saw the same error.

I should have made clear that you should stop Zimbra using zmcontrol stop (while logged in as the zimbra user). Also make sure that no Zimbra tasks are running, kill all of them if there's any there and the uninstall/reinstall should work OK.

It seems that MySQL could not connect ...

Is that the whole log file? I don't see the ldap initialization step, which is why you get the no such server error.
What happens when you start ldap?
su - zimbra

ldap start
search the forums for ldap troubleshooting steps.
