I thought I would add, literally changing the line:

Code: Select all

      s|(^destination mail { file\("/var/log/mail"\); };)|#$1|;

to:

Code: Select all

      s|(^destination mail \{ file\("/var/log/mail"\); };)|#$1|;
...corrected this for me. This is line 190 in the file /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup. It seems like it's due to more restrictive Perl code than anything in Zimbra.

zmstat-io is running on high cpu and io wa loads.

It's logging this many times a second:
Use of uninitialized value $line in pattern match (m//) at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmstat-io line 76

Did you not see the fix for this problem at the top of the page (two posts above yours)?

The provided regex fix is for the syslog install error not for the zmstat-io error.
Right now i just stopped the zmstat as zimbra user.

Regarding the zmstat.out messages that are filling up your hard drive, "Use of uninitialized value $line in pattern match (m//) at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmstat-io line 76" ...

I'm not sure if this will break anything else, as I'm really not an expert. However, after reviewing the output of iostat that's ready by zmstat-io, (/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmstat-io) I noticed that "Device" in the iostat output doesn't contain a ":" as it appears to be looking for in the script (Device:). So here's what I did--it at least stopped the messages from filling up the zmstat.out file that quickly fills up the hard drive:

login as zimbra and stop zmstat: zmstatctl stop
edit /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmstat-io
replace all "Device:" with "Device" (in vi, put ":%s/Device:/Device/g" without quotes) and save.
delete the /opt/zimbra/zmstat/zmstat.log file that is probably huge.
restart zmstat: zmstatctl start
Offending, space-filling messages should be all gone!

I hope this helps. Let me know what you think.

Wanted to try the zmstat-io changes today, but:

Updating the ssl/tls cert seems not to work as before anymore:

Code: Select all

su - zimbra -c '/opt/zimbra/bin/zmcertmgr deploycrt comm ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem ssl/letsencrypt/chain_x3.pem'
** Verifying 'ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem' against '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial.key'
Certificate 'ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem' and private key '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial.key' match.
** Verifying 'ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem' against 'ssl/letsencrypt/chain_x3.pem'
Valid certificate chain: ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem: OK
** Copying 'ssl/letsencrypt/cert.pem' to '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial.crt'
** Copying 'ssl/letsencrypt/chain_x3.pem' to '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial_ca.crt'
** Appending ca chain 'ssl/letsencrypt/chain_x3.pem' to '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial.crt'
** Importing cert '/opt/zimbra/ssl/zimbra/commercial/commercial_ca.crt' as 'zcs-user-commercial_ca' into cacerts '/opt/zimbra/common/lib/jvm/java/lib/security/cacerts'
