Maximum 1 week of mail sync in iOS 12+

Apple iOS 12 and 13 are only allowing mail sync of 1 day, 3 days and 1 week when configuring the ZCS account as an Exchange account. A real Exchange account can still be set to sync unlimited mail. Is there a workaround (other than using Zimbra desktop)?
