Good day,
For a background, please this thread. viewtopic.php?p=308468
We are beginning to work on our migration plan, investigating methods and their associated problems and benefits. Looking through the many tutorials and products for migrating when upgrading from one Zimbra version to another I have not seen anything that addresses mail data when HSM is employed.
If do a mailbox export from the old server version -> rsync -> import to the new server version I would imagine messages will be stored on the primary volume of the new server and then HSM will move the messages as it discovers them.
Am I incorrect believing that?

Re: Migrating with HSM
Hello.
As you are exporting/importing, everything will arrive in the primary volume.
Without deduplication.
So once you have imported data, you'll need to launch a deduplication session and an HSM session.
It's the same issue (no dedup, no HSM) when using the "external restore" feature of NG backup module.
