Hi All...
Is their a zimlet that would allow you to open an MSG file that you received as an attachment? If the user does not have Outlook they can't open the file which creates a frustrated user. I know they have viewers and converts but I'd rather do something native that doesn't require an install on numerous machines.
Any feedback or ideas are welcome.
Thanks
Joe
Zimlet to open MSG files
Re: Zimlet to open MSG files
This already works out of the box if attached e-mails are properly marked as "Content-Type: message/rfc822".
(how an attachment is opened is determined by MIME type, not by filename extension.)

This feature is available in core product. Are you facing any issue with that?
Re: Zimlet to open MSG files
The issue is that the file system (windows in our case) does not know how to open a MSG file directly as Zimbra is not a desktop application. Out document management systems only integrate with Outlook. Ideally I'd love to get to a place where I don't need Outlook but to do that I need a few things:
1. If I download and need to open a msg file from the Doc Management system I need the file to open with Zimbra seemlessly.
2. The ability to integrate our Doc Management system or any doc management system for that matter with Zimbra. 99.99% of all files in that system are emails that came in for a particular account during a particular policy period for a specific coverage.
