unable to "select all"

when in a folder, or in the search tab, I am unable to "select all"
if I click select all (check box above the messages) it select 100 message, but there IS much more.
selecting messages 100 by 100 is not acceptable, and maintaining shift key do not select more than 100 msgs.
this was working fine before in Zimbra9 or 8.
how do you guys select the whole selection even if not displayed ?

whatever is the browser involved in the process this seems to be because of the "modern" web interface.
looks like I got it to work with "classic" interface.
(not a good point for the modern)
