Good morning everyone,
today I did a yum update on the Rocky 9 server with Zimbra 10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL9_64_20260310121522 RHEL9_64 FOSS edition, these updates appeared:

zimbra-core-components x86_64 10.1.6-1zimbra10.0b1.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 7.9 k
zimbra-ldap-components x86_64 10.1.3-1zimbra10.0b1.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 7.1 k
zimbra-lmdb x86_64 2.5.17-1zimbra10.0b2.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 75 k
zimbra-lmdb-libs x86_64 2.5.17-1zimbra10.0b2.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 51 k
zimbra-mta-components x86_64 10.1.5-1zimbra8.8b1.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 7.6 k
zimbra-openldap-client x86_64 2.5.17-1zimbra10.0b2.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 126 k
zimbra-openldap-libs x86_64 2.5.17-1zimbra10.0b2.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 169 k
zimbra-openldap-server x86_64 2.5.17-1zimbra10.0b2.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 1.2 M
zimbra-postfix x86_64 3.6.14-1zimbra8.7b7.el9 zimbra-1010-oss 2.4 M

I think they were released after version 10.1.17 NE came out.
I haven't installed them, do you think it could be a problem to install them or is it better to wait for the 10.1.17 FOSS version?

Thank you, Regards.

Well, those postfix upgrades are tempting but given those zimbra-core and zimbra-ldap updates I wouldn't upgrade given that the Zimbra Core packages that are present in the built tgz might not be ready for those changes.

I guess the best course of action is testing that upgrade in a cloned VPS and see what happens in practice there... and, of course, share your findings in this thread ;) .

Sorry about that :-)

I haven't examined the logs much but at first glimpse the day has gone well and without problems. Mail is coming in and going out.
So for me, it seems to not cause a problem

We have a 10.1.16 FOSS development server on Rocky 9. We applied the Zimbra-provided repo updates and have been exercising the box with no ill effects observed so far.

Hope that helps,
Mark

OK.. Ive been stuck on 8.8.15 P47 for a long time. just not found the time to address this.

however...
I Cloned from Centos7 to Rocky8 on 8.8.15 That's been up and running for months, til I got around to more.

Today, Created another Rocky8 clone of 8.8.15, which apart from some system config issues unrelated to the zimbra sw, all went well.

I then attempted upgrade of that clone system from 8.8.15 to 10.1.16

Initially just did a './zcs-10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL8_64.20260310121612/install.sh' with N to "Use Zimbra's package repository "
That failed with an issue with version of jetty.
error: Failed dependencies:
zimbra-jetty-distribution >= 9.4.57.v20241219-2.r8 is needed by zimbra-store-10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL8_64-20260310121612.x86_64

Tried again with './zcs-10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL8_64.20260310121612/install.sh -s' to install software only answering N to "Use Zimbra's package repository" . That was also unsuccessful.
ERROR: Unable to install required packages
WARNING: REMOTE PACKAGE INSTALLATION FAILED.

I then disabled the old repo
dnf --disablerepo=zimbra-8815-oss

Tried again with './zcs-10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL8_64.20260310121612/install.sh -s' to install software only answering Y to "Use Zimbra's package repository" .
That was successful.

Then to do the upgrade, './zcs-10.1.16_GA_4200001.RHEL8_64.20260310121612/install.sh', answering N to"Use Zimbra's package repository", and had a clean upgrade.

So, 10.1.16 is up and running ok on my test clone, upgraded directly from 8.8.15 P47,, so pretty happy with that.

I'll do some more testing for a few days before attempting to upgrade the production system.

Thanks!!! :-)

Given the positive feedback I think it's safe to say that upgrading packages to match 10.1.17 from the repos while having ZCS FOSS 10.1.16 built by Maldua is safe for both Ubuntu and RHEL.
