I'm not sure if this is a benefit or not (it is, from my perspective).. but it looks like as an added perk to the outlook connector, all those people that wanted to read their IMAP/POP mail in Zimbra can do so now.
It looks like the Outlook connector is pulling IMAP/POP accounts mail and storing them in the Zimbra Store -- so as long as outlook is running somewhere, you can then read all your mail from Zimbra anywhere else.
If this is true, its probably only a hop skip and a jump away from having this server side.

Are you setting it up so that Outlook delivers your external IMAP/POP accounts to the INBOX in the same profile? If so then this is just Outlook using the Zimbra Connector to store the mail. Very cool use case I might add, but not sure you can jump to conclusions on server side support. Of course you can do this server-side today by simply using fetchmail to grab your external mail and then store it in Zimbra.
