Mail queue tracker and reporting

I am using zimbra through zabbix. Queue monitoring, services status everything is working fine.

Now our NOC team is facing issue with deferred queue monitoring.

They want some machanism through which we can come to know the changes or new mail entry in deferred quque.
For e.g if there are 50 mails in derferred quque and after 2 days also if I get same value or 40 value then we should know how many new mails came to derferred quque...then it is making sense to revisit derrferred queue.
I tried to get this information based on time stamp through postqueue -p but still not getting clue how can we showcse this difference monitoring tool ..
Any idea ?
