Did the poster ever find the cause of this because I see the same. I wish people would take the time to come back and close their questions.
Anyhow, I have my desktop client set to check email every five minutes yet I/O is non sto, constant using up the most data of all applications on the PC.
There are five zdclient.exe processes and of those, three are constantly moving data.
What the heck is this all about?
Looking for this I also came across a thread where people are saying that there is a known problem/exploit where zimbra servers could be being used as miners.
So far, no real way of knowing what to look for.
My server is patched up to; zcs-8.8.11_GA_3737.RHEL7_64
- Zimbra Collaboration 8.6 Patch 9 now available (includes fix for CVE-2017-8802). Read the announcement.
- Zimbra Collaboration 8.8.7 + Zimbra Connector for Outlook 8.8.7 are available.. Read the announcement.
- Are you a Zimbra Developer? You can find some interesting stuff in our Official GitHub: https://github.com/Zimbra and check the Community Projects too: https://github.com/Zimbra-Community/
Why is Zimbra desktop using data non stop?

There's plenty of information about the 'exploit' in the Administrator forum here: https://forums.zimbra.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=65932zim_mike wrote:Looking for this I also came across a thread where people are saying that there is a known problem/exploit where zimbra servers could be being used as miners.
