error displaying email messages

I have a problem displaying email in zimbra webmail, I have tried updating the version but still the same error.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this

Do you see an error in all emails or for one item?

please check, if you have 'pax' installed in your system ('which pax')

Probably the Zimbra server will be attacked - encrypted Zimbra data. Specifically msg files. Plus, if NG modules are backed up, so is the backup.
Installed PAX will not prevent the attack. It happened to us with pax already installed.

Probably silly question, but are you absolutely sure the backups are corrupted also? I'd have thought the way the smartscan works it should miss what is effectively "silent corruption" of the blobs.

Answering myself, if the software has encrypted everything writeable by the Zimbra user then of course the backups could be encrypted.

Yes, backup storage is encrypted.
